One year of travels

The day has finally arrived.
We’ve been on the road for one full year today. Both of us want to reflect on some of our favourite bits we might have missed out on during our travels and our hopes for what’s to come in 2011.

Hong Kong – Part 2

2nd Full Day in Hong Kong
After going a little too hard on the drink we woke up at around midday feeling slightly hazy on it and tried to figure out from the last pictures on the camera what time we got home.  We still aren’t entirely sure but today was a new day in Hong Kong (even though we’d slept to through most of it).  We decided to take a break from the Skyscrapers and fast pace of the city, Repulse Bay was just the ticket.  We caught the bus …

Hong Kong – Part 1

Round the World – Official Start
After a 12 hour flight and some slightly cramped British airways plane seats we arrived in Hong Kong feeling less that fresh but ready to jump into the Hong Kong life.  This was the official start to our round the world adventure.  To ease ourselves in to the trip we opted for some hotel accommodation on Kowloon Island.  The only problem was that we had to find it.  We knew the address was  Nathan Road and accessed the tourist information desk how to get there.  …

The countdown is on

I get the feeling that the countdown is really on now and things are coming together nicely.  We booked our hotel for the 1st stop in the trip (Hong Kong) last week.   We will be staying in a fairly standard 3* hotel in central Hong Kong.  Apparently it is fairly close to all the main attractions.
Since Donna will be celebrating her birthday there and its the first leg of our trip we decided to go  for the Hotel option in stead of a Hostel.  After that though it will …
